Mario Fruity Cream Soda Recipe (and video!)

Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood is almost open to the public (opening Feb 17, 2023) but there have already been previews happening, and I got the inside scoop (get it, scoop??) on the character cream sodas that are being served there.

Currently there are three flavors of “fruity cream sodas” on offer — Mario (strawberry), Luigi (green apple), and Peach (um, peach). More of an Italian soda/float, these drinks have already been uber popular amongst the preview crowds. So, if you aren’t able to get over to Los Angeles in the next couple months, you can hold yourself over making these easy and delicious drinks! I’ve even included where you can get an image to put on the cups and a printable to make the cute straw decoration so that you can be super legit!

• 3 Tablespoons Strawberry Popping Boba Balls
• 1 Ounce Strawberry Drink Syrup
• 6 Ounces Lemon-Lime Soda
• 1 Cup Ice Cubes
• 1 Scoop Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
• 1 Tablespoon Strawberry Ice Cream Topping
• 1 Tablespoon Coconut Drink Syrup
• 1 Maraschino Cherry

Instructions

1. Add ingredients in the order they are listed into a 16-ounce plastic cup. Insert large gauge straw and a spoon, and enjoy!

This Etsy shop has cute Mario and Luigi faces in an SVG file for just a couple bucks. Check it out! Simply purchase, print, and tape with clear packing tape onto your plastic cup.

For the mustache straw decoration, I made this little file on Canva that you can print if you’d like! I print this on 4 x 6 glossy photo paper. This is perfect because the size is right, and the paper is more waterproof and won’t get soggy in the soda.
