Christmas Season Kick-off Box

This year is the first year our family is spending Christmas season in our own home with just our little family — not at one of our parents houses.  And I am excited to try out some new traditions!

So the first one we did this year, my husband and I brought a big wrapped box down from our room that said “Open December 1st” on it.  The kids were sure surprised and excited!

When they opened it, they found a big box with these items inside:

• Christmas Books 

  • Including How the Grinch Stole Christmas ,Polar Express ,The Legend of the Candy Cane , and The Tale of Three Trees

• Christmas Movies

  • Including Home Alone and Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special

• Snuggly Matching Christmas Socks

• Popcorn

• Hot Chocolate Packets

Basically, the point is to get the family excited for the Christmas season and show that we are going to be doing some awesome activities all month long — including reading a Christmas book every day and watching a lot of Christmas movies (while eating popcorn and hot chocolate!)

I think this is a fun way to get the kids excited and I think we will continue the tradition next year!
